Third ❀ Bloom Text; backdated to the 20th | Open to Both Courts w/ Filters
Good day, everyone.
It seems Reynard The Fox is a Hot Topic of the week, and I know that he is being discussed in greater depth elsewhere, thank goodness. [Seriously, this stuff is very nice to know.] That said, I may have a bit of new information for those who weren't aware.
He was behind the destruction of the Drabkeeper's Castle. By himself, it seems. I don't know why, but if you've seen what's happened to it, you know that that's no joke. It's been completely levelled.
[So, that might give a greater appreciation of what he might be capable of to those that didn't know, before.
There's more to it than that, but she doesn't know how much of a target she's made herself out to be and doesn't want to implicate or involve anyone else. Still, someone should know all of it.]
[SEELIE LOCKED, but with additional private filters to Waver Velvet and the Outsider]
Secondly, I would caution anyone with any kind of Sight [there is a careful emphasis of the word that she's certain won't be missed by those who know what to look for.] in taking extra precautions in using it, if you have both the means to and the control.
Please, be careful. That's all.
[Locked to Lancelot and John Grimm]
There's something you may want to know, if you don't know it already.

[That was pretty much the worst of it, and a little completely terrifying if she's honest.]
The shards make sense, though. I can sense energies in general, but it felt stranger. There could have been some sort of resonance between his and mine...but I normally shouldn't have been able to tell that from a vision. Then again, things don't work as a lot of people are used to, here. What else is new in the Drabwurld.
no subject
[Waver would be doing much the same, mind.]</small. Again, shards. It's the only way people can have that resonance, I suspect, a similar energy signature. It is the only logical explanation I can think of, and even in the Drabwurld, there must be rules to how things work.

[She recalls the carefree attitude with which she told Zelos that it shouldn't take very long. It seems so foolish and flippant of her in hindsight.]
But that's all of it. He destroyed the castle and everyone who might have been in it, apparently has a daughter who I'd be happy with never seeing again--which might have been her intention from the start. I don't know. I don't know anything about the magic she used, yet.
no subject
[He sighs, the destruction is truly awful to think about.]
Did you ask your monarch about what might have been used in that moment, magic-wise?
no subject
She was actually very tight-lipped about the entire thing. Not vague or misdirecting, either. She said she wouldn't betray his secrets, even though he was an enemy.
no subject
[He frown, thin lipped.]
The whole thing is very strange.
no subject
[She finishes the last of her coffee.]
But strange is a word for it. What he could possibly want, and did he get it? And his daughter. I'm not sure where to go from here.
no subject
[Which was something that had bee missing throughout all of this.]
Information, information, information. He gets to control it, and control of information is the biggest advantage in a war like this. No matter what he's planning, we know it's big enough and important enough to justify this level of destruction.
sorry for late, meg, i was out of the country!
[Her eyes lower onto her cup and they stare at it like it's a particularly difficult puzzle. It doesn't help that they're missing pieces, here. Did he want to rule? Did he want to destroy? Was it something else? Something more? Who knew?]
I still can't wrap my head around it on every level. That place was a millenia-old bastion of knowledge. Who just destroys all of that?
[There is heavy upset in her voice. She might be biased because she's a nerd, but surely anyone could see the vital importance of such a place.]
More than that, I'm worried that if he did, it's because he might have gotten what he was looking for--or decided that if he couldn't have it, nobody could. Either way, I have no clue what that is.
[Something he said earlier comes back to mind. Flora's been trying to paint a picture of the Fox from bits and pieces. She knows things but not nearly enough at the same time. However, El-Melloi II's guessed that it was Reynard that was behind this, and that it seemed like something he might have done. That tells her that he probably knows more about him than she does.] Have you met him though, my lord?
You're finnneee
[Waver sighs. He knows and understands that anger - it was starting to become a very common thing for him here.]
He might have just wanted the Drabkeeper dead, based on that vision of yours. The rest of the library was clean work, to distract from things. That's the only other option I've got.
[At the question though, Waver nods.]
Back in July, yes. Charismatic cover, for all the crazy underneath.
they're such nerds
[Books weren't allowed to be taken from the library, but maybe special exceptions were made.]
Those are always fun to deal with. But I feel like...I'm missing something--a lot of things, definitely, but some are much more immediate. What I've read about him is slim, just a lot of facts, but if he's so crazy and a danger, why is he still around?
[Flora knows nothing of any expeditions to Maupertius or what Reynard knows or any of it, so trying to piece together context of why he's not dead yet is sort of difficult.]
Is he of use to someone, does he have leverage, he...couldn't be too powerful the courts, could he?
it is beautiful.
[Damn everything. But as for why Reynard's still around, that's a little easier.]
For a while, I think he was just making himself useful for both courts to ensure his survival, and being mostly harmless. He's the kind to play a long game, and have done a lot of work and laying a lot of plans until well - getting to where we are now.
He's planning on being a threat to the courts now. Which means they'll want him taken care of.
no subject
He's centuries old, isn't he? This is a pretty long one, definitely. Here's hoping that even at the end of it he's still biting off more than he can chew.
[And yet she can't say she particularly relishes that because...well, what'll say about the rest of them? Flora doesn't want to threaten the courts so much, but she would like to affect enough change to see that everyone can go home that wants to. That isn't going to be easy, nor come cheaply.
But Reynard himself still bothers her a bit. If he's been here for very long, surely he'd have a much better appreciation of what he's up against, more than anyone else here. What if he thinks he has a chance, and not because it's some delusion of grandeur.]
But he must be extremely capable if both sides wanted him. Where'd he start, curiously?
[She's going to GUESS Unseelie, but she's not about to make assumptions.]
And...I'd heard he was collecting shards. [Not trying to, was, as in successful in gathering them.] Just how many does he have? Does anyone know?
no subject
[And no one was surprised. Waver brightens at the preservation offer though.]
I'll get the casing out for you when we finish up here.
But he is capable, mostly because he's clever with the firepower to back himself up.
no subject
[Flora settles back into her chair.]
Okay, so the castle is quite unfortunately out. And I'm sure there other unbiased sources, but the best ones might be hard to find, and I'm still worried about his daughter. None of the other shardbearers I've talked to that is much more in the know than me even knew she existed, much less anything about her. It might fall to asking people. I don't like unknown variables in cases like these, especially when they're sadistic.
no subject
[It's the best guess, at any rate.]
You're the first to even tell me he had a daughter, so I think that's something to keep in mind. Getting word out about her is going to be a wise idea. I don't like that this matter is becoming so public, but their level of threat needs to be a known thing. Someone's already done it with regards to Reynard. The more people to share information with too, the better.
no subject
[And if Reynard's the master...great.]
Yeah, you're right, absolutely. She just...gives me a very bad feeling. I wonder if people didn't know about her because there was a concerted effort or if because we just haven't been here long enough. [She pauses for a moment, then sighs wearily.] I'd ask the sylphs, since they're old enough to know something, maybe, but they've got something on their mind, right now.
thank.
[As for the Little Fox, well.]
Concerted effort, more likely, but double check with the--
[Waver smacks his forehead. Why wasn't this obvious before?]
You said that there was a missing sylph, right?!
NP :>
No, I don't think I said that explicitly--but yeah, there's one missing. Her sisters are worried sick, and sylphs tend not to worry themselves about much. [So that was really saying something.] I promised that I'd do my best to help find her. You know something about it?

[SIR, PLEASE EXPLAIN.]

Working theory, but--
no subject
Okay, so you think they must have had a really bad break up or falling out? Do you think he really had a hand in her being missing?
no subject
[He prays that she can read between that particular line.]
Falling out, or something. Hell if I can guess what.
no subject
[She's not holding out, though. Her voice is gentle.]
And can you tell me if she's still alive?
