Good day, everyone.

It seems Reynard The Fox is a Hot Topic of the week, and I know that he is being discussed in greater depth elsewhere, thank goodness. [Seriously, this stuff is very nice to know.] That said, I may have a bit of new information for those who weren't aware.

He was behind the destruction of the Drabkeeper's Castle. By himself, it seems. I don't know why, but if you've seen what's happened to it, you know that that's no joke. It's been completely levelled.

[So, that might give a greater appreciation of what he might be capable of to those that didn't know, before.

There's more to it than that, but she doesn't know how much of a target she's made herself out to be and doesn't want to implicate or involve anyone else. Still, someone should know all of it.]

Secondly, I would caution anyone with any kind of Sight [there is a careful emphasis of the word that she's certain won't be missed by those who know what to look for.] in taking extra precautions in using it, if you have both the means to and the control.

I wonder what his problem is, not that anything I've heard really surprises me.

[It's all secondhand, and that doesn't paint quite as good a picture as if she'd met him herself, but it fits the M.O. of a lot of people she's dealt with in the past, so far.]

[The connection

Soon is literally not fifteen seconds later, as the door swings carefully open and in walks Flora. She heads for his table and curtsies gracefully in greeting.]

My lord! It is very good to meet you in person like this.

--Good Lord how did you get here so fast?

[Flora blinks at the surprise, a little taken aback.]

Uh.

[Then she smiles widely.]

I teleported!

[Obviously.]

Let it be known that I envy your ability and wish I had it.

[And with that out of the way, Waver looks towards the counter.]

I'm assuming what you're going to tell me is sensitive, meaning we should hold this discussion upstairs with better wards. Before that though, do you want anything to drink?

So noted. It comes in very handy, I must admit.

[But she nods.]

Upstairs might be best. Oh, I've been looking forward to trying this coffee for a while now, please, if you wouldn't mind. However you recommend I take it would be just fine.

I may very well just need to use boons to mimic the idea.

[Waver stands then, heading towards the counter. He suspects Archer's in the kitchen prep area, leaving him to brew.]

Sweet, then, as this iteration of the stuff is very bitter if you don't add anything.

That might be a good idea. I do enjoy taking the scenic routes but when you need to get somewhere fast, it will do in a pinch.

[She follows after him.]

I'd say I don't like sweet things, but that would be a tremendous lie. But, this a nice place you have, here.

[Waver heads right behind the counter, and begins to grab what he needs. Ibrik first, then coffee grinds (spiced with cardamom). Sugar follows, then the water.]

Thank you. I honestly feel more comfortable here than I ever did within Caer Scima, but I suppose that's because I got a say in every little detail.

[With the water in, Waver parks the ibrik on the heartside, letting the indirect heat resting in the stones begin to work on the brass brewing vessel.]

[Flora watches him work, very much fascinated. She's never seen coffee made like this before.]

What's it like there, anyway? I hear it's a bit...drab?

Dark, yes, but it fits the whole Unseelie atmosphere. It's nice, just.

[He shrugs, keeping a close eye on the pot.]

I get no input on it. Silly, I know, but it's important to me.

I don't think it's silly at all. It's a place you're meant to live, and everyone has different tastes. Besides, there's a lot about this place that we don't have a say on, so I can this as being all the more important.

[She smiles, eyebrows pointing inward.] Personally, I'm much more used to sharing a space with others. I never thought I'd miss having music at full blast first thing in the morning, but there you have it.

Whereas I'm very much used to living alone, so the communal aspects of the castle was a big shock.

[Waver lifts the pot off the hearth for a moment, when brown foam threatens to spill out. He lets the froth die down, then returns it to the hearth.]

The complaints are moot now, I suppose.

If you think that's communal, try sharing the same space with five other magical people.

[Okay some things were totally her fault sometimes but shhh.]

So, are you happier here? Is it a good fit?

That hell is what I call university.

[The smile is wry. Clock Tower was indeed Hell, but communal living was the least of it. It's only a little better now, being a professor.]

[He picks the ibrik up again, when the foam threatens. One more go, and it'll be done.]

There's a cup on the counter for this, would you kindly pass it to me?

Oh, dear. That sounds like it might have been rough. Didn't have nice dorm mates?

[That's as good an admission as anything else to his connection with magic, and, inwardly, she can't say she's not happy, since he's had to keep that close to his chest or dance around it. Still, she's not going to barrel into twenty questions, either. She's curious, but she's never wanted to press to discomfort, so she'll just leave the ball in his court.]

Well, if it were actual home, that would be too easy. Though I have to say, a lot of this place sort of reminds me of where I come from and what I'm used to. Aside from the grand room.

[She gets the cup and carefully offers it to him.]

Certainly. This has been very interesting to watch, I must say.

[Flora, it's coffee, calm down.]

Not at all. I at least like my co-professors these days.

[That's all he'll give for now, and while Waver would love to play twenty questions - it's only fair since he did it to her - it's not the time and place.]

It's more than enough for now. I'm treating downstairs just like a very large Costa Coffee. Er-- the English Starbucks equiviliant.

[And with the cup in hand, and the coffee foaming again, Waver pulls the ibrik, and pours it into the very small cup. The ibrik's returned to the counter, and the cup offered to Flora.]

There. Taste it first, in case you need to add more sugar to it.

I'm sorry about that, but I'm glad you get on with your fellow professors. I probably got lucky in that a lot of my then co-teachers were my best friends, the same ones I've lived and gone to school with.

[Twenty Questions is their favourite game, but Flora is ever patient and mindful. It's not like there's a rush here, and there's at least a hundred reasons why someone might want to keep their magic a secret. Even if she hasn't had to very often, thankfully, she could probably understand.

She takes the little cup and blows gently over it.]

Thank you, and what a charming little cup.

[She takes a sip, and it's sweet enough, but more than that her tongue is immediately assaulted with flavour and her eyes go wide with pleasant surprise. She laughs a little after swallowing.]

This is amazing! Wow. Very, very bold. How different.

That's lucky indeed.

[Waver smiles, gesturing for Flora to follow him upstairs.]

It's actually one of the earlier methods of making it.

[She follows him, but does a curious thing.

She completely lets go of the cup.

Instead of shattering on the floor and making a great mess, it floats along, trailing on motes of golden dust.]

I wasn't aware, but I'm not surprised. Sometimes, one of the best things you can do is go back to the basics.

[Waver's all ready to dive to save the cup when he realizes he's floating. The gold dust gets a little jealous side eye, and he continues up the steps.]

Actually, I just went with this method because it was super low technology, and therefore compatible with what's available here.

[Once he's up on the landing, Waver heads down a rather nondescript hall. A key slides out of his pocket, and he unlocks a door.]
