Good day, everyone.

It seems Reynard The Fox is a Hot Topic of the week, and I know that he is being discussed in greater depth elsewhere, thank goodness. [Seriously, this stuff is very nice to know.] That said, I may have a bit of new information for those who weren't aware.

He was behind the destruction of the Drabkeeper's Castle. By himself, it seems. I don't know why, but if you've seen what's happened to it, you know that that's no joke. It's been completely levelled.

[So, that might give a greater appreciation of what he might be capable of to those that didn't know, before.

There's more to it than that, but she doesn't know how much of a target she's made herself out to be and doesn't want to implicate or involve anyone else. Still, someone should know all of it.]

Secondly, I would caution anyone with any kind of Sight [there is a careful emphasis of the word that she's certain won't be missed by those who know what to look for.] in taking extra precautions in using it, if you have both the means to and the control.

[To be honest, Flora used text because while she can keep other people's secrets very well, sometimes, she's not the best with her own or keeping things hidden when they weigh on her. But, she's said what she needs to, and she wants to see the Outsider, besides!]

I am, now. [When she went there, eeehhh, not so much, but details.

But wow, she blinks and is immediately concerned. Her voice isn't panicked, in fact it's quite calm, but her features are pinched with worry.]

Please be careful. His power is immense, and excruciating.

Now, [ he repeats, head tilting. He's in the encampment at the moment, the storm still raging. ]

I will be. In truth, I am mostly here to watch Alice and Lumina -- Alice would have gone with or without me, but asked for my help, and Lumina... goes where she wishes on a whim.

[ He's horribly fond of them both. ]

[She scratches her cheek, sheepishly.] Oh, um, I suppose it turns out that I got caught snooping where I shouldn't have? Maybe. [She sighs.] Or more walked into a trap. My own spell was warped, and then I was trapped in it. It...there was sort of really powerful, really awful curse of some kind, maybe, it was a psychic attack. And then at the end of it all, I was blinded. Not exactly my idea of a fun time.

Well, I hope you'll all come out of it just fine. Even if she would have gone without you, I'm sure Alice is happy to have you with her.

Perhaps the Fox is as smart as they say, then. How long did this last? Do any effects still linger?

[ That she knows of, at least. He hopes she's gone to have the healers look her over, to see if any part of the curse lingers. ]

I think it rather surprised her.

I'd been unconscious for about an hour, apparently, and the blindness'd lasted twenty four hours, before it wore off on its own. No one could do anything about it. I couldn't, my friends couldn't, healers in the infirmary, no one. [Here, her voice grows a little quiet. She'd barely been able to sleep at all after all the attempts, too worried was she that her sight might have been gone forever.

She wants to say it was her fault, that she as careless, but Zelos's words playback in her head and she swallows them, exhaling slowly.

This gets into a bit of dangerous territory.]

I...don't know that it was him, though. Or just him, anyway. I haven't worked everything out, yet. But, I'm fine now. [She offers a chipper chipper smile. Totally okay, so don't worry.]

I hope the surprise was interesting to watch, for you.

Powerful magic, [ he murmurs; he's fully aware that Flora likely knows that, but it's something to think over. It's certainly something he's not certain if he can fight, in his depowered state in this world. ]

It was. And I will contact you when I am finished here, if you would like.

[ That's what people do to help people not worry, right? ]

Very, and I'm still not sure what kind it was. I should be able to break any dark spell, but, well, I should be able to do a lot of things that I can't. Everything's up in the air, now. [She thought she'd been taking enough precautions and managing well enough with this magic, but apparently not.

But look who's being considerate?]

I would appreciate that. I know what I said about getting more involved but lets be, well, as careful as you could possibly be. You're not, uh, fighting now, are you?

[She's a little concerned because
a) it's perfect normal to have to communicate in the middle of a fray sometimes, but she could see him doing it because he might find particular bits boring. Somehow.
b) she's not sure if he'd be ruffled if there was an actual emergency of some sort, anyway.]

Perhaps it was not dark.

[ Dark, light -- so easy to classify things into those categories, but the Outsider and chaos and his magic are neither. Perhaps it's the same for the spell that afflicted Flora. ]

I am not, no.

[ He sounds a bit amused at the suggestion that he might be. ]

Perhaps it wasn't. [She nods her agreement.] Perhaps it wasn't anything. One more thing to add to the pile, I suppose.

[She hears the amusement and responds to it.]

Well, you never know! It might have been in your best interests to, one way or another.

[Either because INTERESTING THINGS! Or he had no choice, but she avoids phrasing it like that in this case. She knows he doesn't enjoy being diminished and she doesn't want to remind him of it.]

...also I can't say I wouldn't put it past you to try and talk to someone in the middle of a fray, and honestly, I think I would need to listen for ambient noise to tell the difference, because I'm not so sure you wouldn't sound exactly as you normally do, even if everything else came apart.

Time itself could hold a certain sort of magic, could it not?

[ Light, dark, nature, chaos -- why not time? ]

Oh, I likely would. [ He says this rather casually, as if he isn't certain why he wouldn't if it came down to it; like there's no real difference between talking on the lockets during a fight or outside of one. ] But I've been watching Alice, and if nothing else I believe she would yell at me. Not an altogether unusual experience, but it is rather stronger when on the same plane of existence.

Absolutely--where I'm from, it'd be easier to find things that can't hold magic--and the magic I used certainly would count for that, though chronomagic is not my specialty over all. But...it would need to be a two-part sort of deal. [She breathes slowly.] Whatever curse or hex was laid on me after I'd been found would take a while to figure out. There are just so many ways to hurt people.

[She sounds despondent at that, but something hardens in her eyes, too. At the end of it, she still thinks she was careless, but she made sure to let her know that she wasn't broken or beaten. She'll have to live up to that.

Flora heaves a heavy sigh and stares upward, but she still smiles.] I wouldn't be surprised if she would.

[Flora would likely do the same.] You are going to worry your friends into early graves, but you do have some sense, so maybe it'll just be early retirement.

Would, [ he echoes. ] This world is not our own. Even I am often surprised by what is possible. Perhaps there is a mage who answers to the monarchs who may be able to teach you of the magic in this world?

Power is often used for pain. [ Something in his face hardens at the statement; it is a fact, it is something he sees often, but that doesn't necessarily mean he enjoys it.

It's quickly replaced, however, by a single word -- 'friends'. ]

Friends, [ he repeats, as if it's a word he's never heard before, never used. ] I have seldom had friends that have chosen to be such.

[She nods in agreement.] I've done that once before, I might as well make a habit of it where and when I can.

Friends. [There certainly is an echo today, isn't there? Flora smiles a smile to make the sun seem dim, then winks.] Yes, them. You have them, and you can chalk it up to another surprising possibility of the world, if you like!

There are always things to learn, after all.

[ Like the fact that you have friends. ] I may have to do that.

As the saying goes, one who ceases to be a student has never been a student. What about you, though? Are you learning anything new, here?

[Flora giggles softly behind a hand. He's really charming sometimes, she wonder if he realises it.] Whatever helps you get through it, but that's what we're there for, too.

[Getting through things, that is--it's what friends do.]

Many things. Forms of magic, different creatures, stories of other worlds...

[ It's all very exciting. c: And no, he has no idea. ]

'We' meaning- my friends. [ It's not a question, but it sounds a bit like one; a child full of wonder trying to confirm something without letting on that he doesn't actually understand. ]

The circumstances under which we're here still leave something to be desired, but the world is pretty great for all that. Here, let's trade: what have you been up to lately, or what have you learned?

[much interesting very learning.]

That's right. [She has a younger sister and is good with children, and so recognises the tone, but graciously doesn't comment on it. Nobody likes to be made to feel a fool.]

I learned a little of nymphs.

[ so excite ]

I have yet to meet one, however.

Oh, I've met several! On my quest. I went into the mountains.

What do you think of them?

[ Unseelie!Lancelot seems to think he'd like them -- as does the Outsider, based on what the man has told him. ]

They're wonderful. I actually got attacked on my way to the mountains and couldn't use the magic I needed so they lent me theirs instead and I became a sylph.

[So much excite at this. Maybe almost dying and scaling a mountain was so worth it.]

[ HOLD ON GO BACK AND EXPLAIN THAT FLORA... ]

[AUGH FINE!!]

Yeah, on my way there. I got this magic-sealing gunk spat at me. I ended up having to scale a mountain by hand.

'Magic-sealing gunk'.

[ um. ]

And how did that happen?

I was fighting a couple of them and one got me from behind.

[This is what happens when you don't have five other fairies watching your back.]

I had to get a little creative after that, but I also hightailed it. I didn't want to run into anything else.
