So the moon is back in the sky, it seems.

That was a lot of fuss for nothing, wasn't it? Running around in caves...racing about chasing the moon... it's funny, in a way.

Chasing the moon is an old phrase. It represents an impossible dream. You can't catch the moon, though I guess we did for a little while. You know, before it turned into a rabbit or something and got away. Even if you can't catch an impossible dream, maybe you shouldn't stop chasing it.

I've chased a lot of things in my day, but the moon is definitely a first.

It was the most ridiculous running-about-in-caves I've ever done.

[Someone's still kinda pissed about it, mostly because the moon caught HIM with its crabby moon claw.]

Any idea how it got back into the sky?

I'm guessing it was our lovely monarchs. [This is probably not something he should be discussing over the locket.] I think they were toying with us that entire time, personally.

I don't know about enjoy, but I tried to make the most of it until it was over.

I suspect we'll at least get a boon or two out of it!

I've never earned a boon before.

Catching the moon? No.

Other things? Sure.

Anything you desire, I think! [Knowing fairies there were probably rules, but...] They gave me my Pearl, last time. Made her fly. You've got to think big with this request, darling.

[He's rather curious about what she would ask for.]

A flying ship is a little more than I'd care to handle. I'll leave that up to you.

Honestly, I think I'd better ask for something to protect myself with, then. This place and it's magic doesn't really agree with my style.

[She wonders.]

Is the Pearl the first thing you've asked for?

The very first. [comes the solemn reply.] And I've got to protect her. But what would you ask for? For protection? You could get a dog. OH! Or a cat!

Do you care to share? It's as you said, you did chase a lot of things...

I prefer a gun. Or something like it.

[Maybe next time a dog or a cat would be cute.]

Well, valuable things, mostly. Things worth quite a lot of money that, when sold, typically went to rich assholes who get whatever they want.

Sometimes, that's not the case. A friend of mine, for instance, tends to go after the stuff of legends. Things and places people thought were only myth. I've helped with that a couple of times.

It must have been quite the adventure each time.

But can you not just simply FIND a gun someplace around here? Surely Vol'Jin'll know where. Some illicit arms dealer with large tusks, just waiting about to trade you a fine weapon!

[Don't waste a wish on a gun, Chloe.]

It was. Not always good, mind you. At times, quite dangerous.

What about you? Are you prone to adventure?

What's an adventure without the danger?

You could say the situation back home left me with no other choice but to take one.

[And a certain witcher.]

What I have is fine, except the difficulty of obtaining bullets.

[One can't get those everywhere, and trading for them won't always be cheap.]

Care to explain?

Mmmmmmmmm. [That's true.] We're just going to have to steal some if your boon doesn't come useful-like....I'll bet you the dwarfs know a thing or two about them.

[Lips quirking as he watches this, Fíli lifts his shoulders in a slight shrug.]

This time, at least, it was us doing the chasing, no matter how strange the chase may have been.

It involves a war and a dragon.

You think so?

[She wonders, since the one dwarf she met used a sword.]

Perhaps they might be taught, if not.

[That could be a lucrative arrangement for both.]

[If it isn't her little hero!]

That sounds like quite a story, indeed.

It is. And magic. And a kingslayer.

Oh, they know. They're clever with their fingers, dwarfs. Or so I've heard. We might trade them gold for bullets.

Having a stock of arms would be ideal. We have to compensate for magic somehow.

[Though some of those among the crew could use the stuff.]

Magic's all well and good, but it typically has too many rules attached to it. Can only be used on Thursdays, doesn't work on the Welsh, that sort of thing. A fine weapon at your side makes much more sense.

One day you should tell it to me. Sounds like a good story to hear in a bar.

With the right company and drink, I'm sure it could be. And if we're discussing drinks and a date night, it seems only proper to introduce ourselves first, wouldn't you agree?

I guess it'll remain a mystery again. But so long as it's fine now.
