[A scream begins this video, but all that follows is the sound of covers being shifted and someone walking, unsteadily, closer to the locket. Vanyel's face comes into view, his features washed out against his black hair.]

I must have... [His voice is hoarse, nearly cracking.] I am Gifted with Foresight. It has been...unreliable...since my arrival. Yet...

I fear what I see when I close my eyes. I fear what the fairies and imps say to us.

What becomes of this world may not matter, but what of our worlds?

[A shiver skates down his back and he clenches his teeth.]

Their magic could be interfering with my own. I pray that is the case. Otherwise...

[He glances over his shoulder before closing his eyes, pained.]

We deserve to see the future.

[Sigh. More magic that he can't do anything about.]

Let me guess. Nothing good, either.

[This pause is way too long.]

Can I lay beside you?

Always. Where are you?

At the end of the corridor. I'll come back to you. [He feels guilty about worrying him, but where else will he go? Besides, he's freezing.]

Alright. I'll be here, then.

[Rather than voice his gratitude, Vanyel shuts the locket and walks to Stefen's side so that he can embrace the Bard in person. His body is cold and his face is pale, but all it takes is one touch to help him begin to relax.]

I wish I could dream only of you.

[It's eerie sometimes just how cold Vanyel can get, and he shivers a little at feeling it, but his arms are around the Herald immediately regardless.]

I wish you could dream of anything but whatever it was you saw. And don't tell me. I know better than to ask.

I do not want such thoughts on your mind. [He pulls back just enough to kiss Stefen tenderly.] No matter what happens, I won't let the war touch you.

[That gets a sigh. He really wants to ask, but doesn't. He sort-of promised he wouldn't, after all.]

I'd be lying if I said I was fine with your being involved, but I suppose you'd object to any protest I had.

On this, you cannot argue with me. [He shrugs off his shirt and shoes before slipping into bed. Lifting the blanket, he encourages Stefen to join him.] I am going to speak to Lady Galadriel.

[Another sigh, but he slides in next to Vanyel.]

I don't know who that is.

I may have spoken to her. [His brow furrows, but he doesn't waste time in entwining their bodies.] She is one of the Elves.

Haven't you noticed those with pointed ears, love? [He smiles faintly.] I met one named Maglor and he has been kind in offering me support from his family.

Oh. [No, not really, and he blushes at that. He'll have to get out more.]

I suppose if they're helping, I can be grateful for them.

I'll introduce you. [He caresses the color on those cheeks.] All you have to be is your charming self.

That should be easy enough to manage.

I have faith in you. [He brushes his lips against the bridge of Stefen's nose.] Maglor at least knows you are dear to me. He is a Bard as well.

Oh? At least we'll have something to talk about.

I think you would get along. They are an interesting race.

I'm sure they are. If you're vouching for them I can't say as I should have too many complaints.

I encourage you to meet Lord Aubri too. He is a Gryphon. [Why yes, he is drawn to the more interesting residents.] I believe he is a guardian of sorts for his kind.

You have... interesting friends.

I do attract a strange crowd.
