For those that are unaware of me, my name is Renly Baratheon. Times have been trying of late, I believe, and we have all been suffering ills that there are few words best to describe. It is for this that I would desire to offer myself as a helping hand or soothing ear for all that desire it or have found themselves lost or without an ally to aid in soothing their turmoiled emotions. You may find me through this network or in my rooms in the castle; the marking of a stag is upon my door and you will be greeted by my fawn, Laurel. I doubt it will be hard to miss.

[ And now for the main point of his post:

My dear friends and kin; I would hope that I could meet you all sometime in the near future, once your own missions and duties are attended to. I have brought gifts for you all that I would like to pass on as soon as matters are in hand. I would also wish to hear more of the fate of Ned Stark. You have my thanks.

And you, as charming.

[Margaery smiles at him, slotting her fingers between his after he presses a kiss to her hand.]

The promise of your company always brightens me. I'm pleased to hear that today is no exception.

[ The warmth of her fingers against his own is a weighted comfort and he nods, allowing himself the dare to step a little closer. ]

I hope I shall always bring you warmth rather than sadness, my lady. And now I dare give you your gifts. Open them, please.

[ He passes them over and awaits her responses to them, arms held to carry what she cannot quite hold. The first is a cloak, finely made and designed to keep her warm. The second a dress, not in her usual style but, he hopes, something she will enjoy. The third is the one he prized most; a locket, inscribed with roses. ]

You know, you needn't try to win me over.

[Not anymore. She gives him a little arch of the brow, sly and playful. But she can't deny that she likes pretty things, and the look of delight on her face at the cloak and the dress are completely genuine.

But it is the locket that she lingers on, her fingers tracing over it. Margaery sighs, looks over at him and presses a kiss to his cheek before she smiles.]

It's beautiful - they're all beautiful. Thank you, Renly. [She offers the locket back to him.] Would you put it on me?

I only want to give my wife the tenderness she deserves, equal to her beauty and grace.

[ He grins and ignores the pink, shamed flush that tickles his cheeks before he steps forward. The kiss is welcome, in a way, and he nods his head as he reaches to attach the necklace around her neck. ]

I saw it and knew I must have it for you, Margaery.

I believe you have an eye for such things.

[He cannot be faulted for his tastes, whatever they may be - he did choose a Tyrell, after all. She stands still, hand over the locket until it's fastened on.

She links her arm through his when she turns around again, starting a slow walk to make it even harder to be overheard.]

You asked about Ned Stark. Has there been news?

I would like to think it is one of my skills.

[ He chose two Tyrells, truth be told, and he smiles as the locket settles around her neck. He wonders if it's a weight to her as his own sadness is to him; the longing for Loras overcomes them both, he is sure.

He rests a hand over hers as they start to walk, leaning close -- it may seem that they whisper words of love and affection but, no. They speak of important matters. ]

He has left us, it seems. Lady Sansa has taken the reigns of the land he was gifted and looks to find herself a marriage to protect her from those that would wish to abuse her position, but she is in no rush.

[She has not openly spoken about the loss of her brother. But she knows Renly comes the closest to understanding. Not a day passes that she doesn't miss him.

So she can sympathize with young girls who lose a loved one of the own.]

A sound course of action. I do hope she chooses wisely.

I would like to aid her in that, if I can. A man that might guard her, but not be as cruel as her previous suitors have been.

[ If there is anyone that ought to know of false marriages, after all, it was the two of them. ]

It's a relief to hear you say that. I would see Sansa feel as safe with her husband as I do with you.

[So, so very safe. But Margaery wouldn't wish someone like Joffrey on anyone. If Renly can help the girl avoid it, she's all for that.]

How do you propose to go about it?

I think that was her desire as well. She said she would be glad to have me as a husband, foremost because she need not fear from my hand.

[ Both in any form of physical violence and, of course, any form of sexual desire. Their marriage would remains as unconsummated as his own with Margaery, should it ever have been a thought. ]

I am uncertain. I act as her guardian, I think, now that her father has left us once more, and I do not wish harm upon her shoulders. There is one name that comes to mind but I cannot imagine either being contented with the match.

Oh?

[Margaery tilts her head at him, unabashedly curious. Spill that dirt.]

Who?

[ He can't help his smile, tilting his head and raising a brow. ]

Could you imagine dear Sansa wedded to my nephew?

[His nephew. Both of her brows lift.]

Gendry?

[Margaery tries to picture their wedding day, imagine the look on the young man's face during the ceremony.

Yep, same as it always is. And yet.]

I think he would make a fine husband in many ways. Far better than previous arrangements.

He is far kinder than Joffrey would ever think to be, and younger than Tyrion. I think he would care for her, too, in his own way, and not force or push her into things she does not wish to do.

[ He looks out over at the greenery and nods his head. ]

The only matter is, of course, the status of his birth and it's meaning here.

A tricky matter.

[Margaery sighs, not sure what she thinks of it herself. But there does seem to be more opportunity to rise through the ranks, as it were. And the throne seems beyond any of their reach, so what else does it really matter?]

I think the practical matters mean more.

As do I.

[ He is no fool, no matter what his brother may have thought of him. ]

I will speak to the High King and Queen, perhaps, and ask their thoughts on legitimacy. If I can simple ask for them to give it to my nephew than most of my problems will be solved.

The wisest course of action. I feel like we'll be celebrating a wedding before we know it.

I would like to dream it possible. [ He sighs, leaning against her gently and offering a smile. ] I fear my nephew is as stubborn as he is alike to me, however.

Strong and determined, dearest.

[That's how she polishes up 'stubborn'. But his words do make her pause to wonder if maybe he has something else in common with his uncle instead.]

Has he ever...expressed an interest in girls?

Apt words, I suppose.

[ He pauses, his eyes turning to her sharply, tilting his head and frowning before he glances away. ]

I am certain that is where his interest lies.
