For those that are unaware of me, my name is Renly Baratheon. Times have been trying of late, I believe, and we have all been suffering ills that there are few words best to describe. It is for this that I would desire to offer myself as a helping hand or soothing ear for all that desire it or have found themselves lost or without an ally to aid in soothing their turmoiled emotions. You may find me through this network or in my rooms in the castle; the marking of a stag is upon my door and you will be greeted by my fawn, Laurel. I doubt it will be hard to miss.

My dear friends and kin; I would hope that I could meet you all sometime in the near future, once your own missions and duties are attended to. I have brought gifts for you all that I would like to pass on as soon as matters are in hand. I would also wish to hear more of the fate of Ned Stark. You have my thanks.

I find myself thinking the dwarves of Cothromach may not believe Tyrion to be one of their kind, should they ever meet.

[ He pauses, for a long moment, thoughtful. ]

You need not love your husband, no, if he is only to be one in name? It is a hard burden to swallow, I can speak of that, but an alliance may be your only option.

I know already I will never marry for love, my lord.

[ or ever marry again at this rate. ]

I do not think that is a dream either of us will be able to grasp, my lady. But perhaps we can find you a match that will bring you some joy all the same.

Joy is not what I require. It's security. Certainty.

I am sure we can find you a match that will offer that. Will you give me the gift of time?

[ because she is not pleased with the prospect of another match. they seem to come from everywhere. she tires of this dance. and yet...

and yet if anyone knew anything about how best to endure a marriage that is not wanted? perhaps it is renly. and perhaps his assistance in this matter is fitting. ]

I shall. I do not think you are in much of a hurry, my lady.

No. Not much of one at all. Weddings are not the dream-like moments I once thought they were. I will happily postpone another.

You and I are in twin mind when it comes to these things. I wish there was more I could do for you. Indeed, I'd offer myself if I thought it were possible for me to protect you so.

[ at least she'd know he'd never ask anything of her. ]

I would count myself a lucky wife. [ she needn't dispense with her courtesies even now. ] The very first day I saw you, my lord, I was convinced there could be no man so handsome.

[ but alas. she cannot have him, nor his lover -- though she'd once foolishly hoped to marry him too. ]

You flatter me, lady Stark. I am sure we both might think of a man more handsome than even me.

[ how he longs for loras. longs for him, like a pang in his chest. ]

Nearly as, perhaps. Or equal to. The more I think on it the more I cannot help but see how the pair of you were drawn together--

[ it isn't a question of tradition. or nature. or even appropriateness. she's come merely to accept and rejoice in the notion of beauty loving beauty. because at least it meant that one thing in this world was not ugly or treacherous. ]

I am unused to speaking of it aloud, but I can attest that it was more than just his beauty that made me wish for him. He had a kindness in his heart that none shall ever compare to.

[ It is strange, he thinks, to speak of his relationship with Loras aloud at all -but this is not speech, this is the word written in privacy that none will dare touch. It is almost freeing. ]

[ and it is strange to so wholly embrace something so...unlikely. unthought of. but along with her acceptance of beauty stirs the understanding that whatever love passed between loras and renly must have been more meet and right than a betrothed who would order his knights to beat upon his wife-to-be. their odd love must be more natural than the violence she'd endured. ]

I believe he may be the last decent man in the whole Kingsguard, my lord.

I daresay he may be one of the few good men remaining in Westeros. Loras Tyrell was more than simply the Knight of Flowers, a son of Summer. He was the sun itself, Sansa. I only wish he was still here so that you might get to know his true heart.

I will settle for your stories, Lord Renly. Should you ever want to share them.

Perhaps one day. One day soon, I am sure.

Mayhaps when we meet again in Cothromach? You will come, won't you?

If you wish it of me, my lady, I wouldn't hesitate tos ay no.
