A permanent marking on my hand was not what I was thinking when I asked for something that might prove useful for us.

But you could lose it otherwise. And now you'll get help where ever you go, at no cost, from guards and inn keepers and couriers. Even other travelers.

Some warning would have been welcome.

What is this help that it gives?

It seems that those we meet will helps us at nor charge; innkeepers, guards, couriers and other travelers.

All those we meet? What makes that mark so special?

I wish that I knew. The fairy only called it the mark of the traveler and told me how it would help. My boon, as it were.

I would like to learn more of it, but I will not turn away whatever help it may bring.

Not specifically. I asked only for something that might be useful for us.

It will be, I do not doubt that much. Everything mother and I have been given has worked as it should.

I have been given nothing, nor have I asked for anything. I am wary - forgive me this, Celebrian. I have asked far too many questions of you.

I understand, I am wary myself but better to take advantage of what we can while they still feel generous. And it is quite alright.
