[Lancelot, standing on the edge of a riverbed, had traveled north after the battle for the Silmaril by himself. Realizing that it would have constituted a sort of abandonment of his post, he decided to let Ganondorf know what he was doing.]

Members of the Unseelie and Seelie courts. I have a warning for you. I, the Knight of the Lake, have been recruited to aid the Dryads of La Llorona in the defense of Fairy-held safe havens throughout the realm. As such, I will eliminate any enemy to them I come across. If you have information on those who threaten such realms, send messages to me. I will end such offenders.

That is all.

[Lancelot added a second message to Ganondorf, specifically.]

My lord. My true upbringing stems from the support of the fey. In this, I'm indebted to them to protect their lands and their well-being.

In this, I will be working to restore one of their Glens, so it may flourish in the wake of battles that had sundered it. Despite this, I will always be available for your sake. Please, do not hesitate to call upon my aid if necessary. My response will be ever swift.

[ Alice has contented herself with Celegorm's horse; she has not spoken to others since she came back to the station and now she's even debating returning to the unseelie court, because her resentment runs that deep for the opposing court now. She does recall him, she remembers using her vorpal blade on his hand when he grabbed her. ]

Why are you aiding them?

What can you tell me of the Dryads of La Llorona? [He is compiling information as fast as he can; being a lonely Mage cut off from his brethren doesn't sit well with him.]

[Berserker's message has prompted a particular question for Waver, who has been contemplating the nature of dryads and their Sisterhood for a few days now.]

Berserker, I apologise if this is an inconvenient question, but can you confirm that I'm correcting in assuming that the dryads of La Llorona are a part of the larger Sisterhood of Nymphs? I know that the Sisterhood is a neutral party, but I want to make sure that I'm right about the extent.

[In his own realm, fairies have often been little more than pests. They were loyal to the Hylians and had always opposed him. Regardless, he cannot fault Lancelot his loyalty to both old debts and to new ones.]

Your loyalty is admirable, Berserker. I will remember it.

But I admit, I know little of these dryads or the threat they face. If you have pledged yourself to help them, I am willing to lend aid as well.

I was given a place to build a manor in La Llorona. We were careful of the trees, but- [ Ariadne pauses, rubbing the back of her neck. ]

If I've upset them at all, can you extend my apologies? I'd like to make amends, if I can. And if you ever need somewhere to stay while you're in the forest...

My mother is fey. My love for her is enough to justify a great deal of obligation towards their well-being.

[Suffice to say, it's his primary faction, given that Camelot is long-since dead and buried.]

There is little one can truly say about them, sir. They do no harm to anyone whatsoever.

[Lancelot had no real desire to comment on how he felt like they were a little frisky with him, but hey, he didn't make any moves. That would have felt weird.]

However, the main bit of information one can say is--fairies and dryads frequent trees, because they're healthy for them. They're elementals that typically do not live long or well when separated from trees, the true and strong embodiment of the concept of 'nature'.

One wonders why it would be an inconvenient question.

[Lancelot didn't sense any ulterior motive in that and he was fairly certain that after discussing his origin with him before that he would have understood the knight's perspective on Fey.]

However, I may simply discount it as your apparent shakiness concerning me in general. [Busted.]

All dryads are considered 'neutral' by nature. They have no affiliation other than to one another. If you consider this a Sisterhood, then I suppose you wouldn't be incorrect.

However, if you mean to say that it would be formally defined as a faction, then I'm not at all sure that would be precise. That would be asking me to define such beings as capable of holding the same types of opinions as mortals.

Then I have no qualms with them. [Though his curiosity remains.] I have learned of creatures who frequent the various elements.

[And he will call on their aid in his future.]

I respect them and I acknowledge that not all of their actions are easily understood by humans.

I have faltered in my loyalty, before. I am making sure I never do so again.

[Lancelot would have been confused by the prospect of fairies 'choosing sides', himself. The fairies he had gotten used to were tricksters who often times cared little beyond the moment. For them to hold grudges or cast allegiances would have simply made him wonder if they were fairies at all.]

They're 'nymphs', or elemental beings that represent the territory they frequent. Beings that come from the nature that they frolick in.

If you pledged your aid to them, my lord, it would be the same as allying with 'Nature', itself.

[Lancelot's dead stare must have been entrancing in a sort of 'get out of my face' kind of way.]

In recompense, the kindest thing you could do would be to plant a tree in the center of your manor. They may view all things 'outside of nature' as foreign and cruel to them.

A tree in the middle of your home would be implying that you're willing to share.

[As for himself, well, he didn't respond to the offer if only because he was certain Ariadne wouldn't want a hulking monster in armor loitering anywhere near her, honestly.]

...You would be kind in such an acknowledgement. [Lancelot immediately decided that he liked this man.]

I am Lancelot of the Lake. What is your name, sir?

I prefer to think of it as being logical. [Vanyel appreciates that.] I am Herald-Mage Vanyel Ashkevron, but please call me Vanyel.

[ lancelot do you have to do that ]

I can do that. Is there any sort of tree they'd like the most, do you think? Or any tree that they would like to see more of?

[ NOW SHE FEELS BAD THANKS ]

Also, I'm not really a gardener, but I want to have lots of plants there. If that, uh. Helps.

[Yes. Didn't you read the legend about Lancelot of the morose and lifeless stare?]

They would have no preference. Only that the tree have sun and touch the ground, itself.

[So, hire another interior decorator--]

It might be an opportunity, really. I cannot say personally how they would feel about potted plants, but beings of nature may view them the same as one would view a canary in a cage with clipped wings or a lion held in a zoo.

I can think of a few places that I could put trees, then.

[ In the towers, perhaps, and she can expand rooms on the sides so that even as she builds up, those trees have sun. ]

Oh, they wouldn't be potted! [ Said hastily. ] I just may need to find someone to help me take care of them at first, that's all.

Guard them well for they have been great friends to me and should I know of them needing aid, I will deliver that information to you swiftly.

[ In fact, three of them remain by his side at all times, having take him in as a little brother of a sort... and their delighted comments in the background can be heard over the feed, as one or another glance over Legolas's shoulder to see the video of Lancelot. The one who will defend their sisters. ]

[Lancelot blinked when he heard Vanyel make that comment. He heard his King say the same thing. Arthur, whose kindness was simply 'a matter of course' never often enjoyed acknowledging his decisions actually were from the standpoint of concern and worry.]

It's been awhile since I've heard that... But, I am pleased to meet you, Sir Vanyel. May I make a request of you? To inform me if you bear witness to sins against the forests?

[There was the slightest twitch at the corners of his lips. For a moment, it almost felt like Lancelot had flashed the slightest notion of a smile.]

I would suggest seeking them out. Nymphs are not typically violent, so you may be able to request that they help you in such an endeavor.

I imagine they would be delighted by a mortal opening themselves up over such a thing.

[ She's going to take it and run with it, tbh. If nothing else, he gets a smile in return. ]

I'm at the Station right now, to help a friend -- but when I return, I'll get started right away.

Do you know of any good ways to contact them?

Likewise, Sir Lancelot. [It really is nice hearing someone genuinely caring about nature. So many times, people plow forward without any thought to the havoc they wreak.] You have my word. If I don't put a stop to it myself, I will inform you promptly.

I do not take kindly to anyone's home being ruined.

[For the moment, Lancelot was in awe regarding the support he had suddenly accumulated. Perhaps it was simply because of the benevolence of others, but he felt he had been doing something selfless once more and it went to his head.]

Then, I will consider you my ally, sir. Regardless of the court you may be a patron of.

[Lancelot hadn't even thought of the giggling. He thought maybe the man speaking to him had been in town. At the moment, he couldn't make out what they had been saying.]

You have my thanks, sir. May I have your name, so I may know whom to address? You may call me Lancelot--of the Lake.

[On that, Lancelot had to consider his answer.] They reached out to me. I suppose it's because I have the presence of fairies on me to begin with, but...

I would assume that beginning to plant a garden would make them curious. They seem think mortals are only capable of destroying, after all.

So, you may not even need to pursue them.

Well met, Lancelot. I am-

[ Ever polite, ever amused now by the antics of his company that tries so very hard to commandeer the locket from him and he just barely avoids having it snagged out of his hands. Yet still, he cannot keep them quiet and a female voice cuts in before he can finish talking. ]

He is Legolas Thranduilion, a great friend of the trees-! [ And then another, different voice: ] And our dear brother, whose side we will not abandon, but to know that our sisters will be safe with you lifts great weight from our hearts for this journey.

[ A third one simply laughs, bright and clear and most joyful, in the background, while Legolas sighs quietly, fondly. They already know all of the elves he travels with, they do not shy away at all anymore. ]

It seems they have taken the introduction from me. I travel in the company of three dryads of the La Llorona forest. To hear your words delighted them greatly, as they have just made it known.

[ A bright spark of amusement in an otherwise dark time, he needed it and his voice sounds considerably lighter. ]
