[Lancelot, standing on the edge of a riverbed, had traveled north after the battle for the Silmaril by himself. Realizing that it would have constituted a sort of abandonment of his post, he decided to let Ganondorf know what he was doing.]

Members of the Unseelie and Seelie courts. I have a warning for you. I, the Knight of the Lake, have been recruited to aid the Dryads of La Llorona in the defense of Fairy-held safe havens throughout the realm. As such, I will eliminate any enemy to them I come across. If you have information on those who threaten such realms, send messages to me. I will end such offenders.

[Lancelot added a second message to Ganondorf, specifically.]

My lord. My true upbringing stems from the support of the fey. In this, I'm indebted to them to protect their lands and their well-being.

In this, I will be working to restore one of their Glens, so it may flourish in the wake of battles that had sundered it. Despite this, I will always be available for your sake. Please, do not hesitate to call upon my aid if necessary. My response will be ever swift.

You hide your grief rather oddly.

[As if Lancelot couldn't spot sadness. He's like, the reigning champ.]

[ That is met with one of the most livid looks in Alice's eyes, as she falls silent. Her natural response is to immediately go on the defensive with any sort of analysis of her emotions. ]

I will remain silent, then. I lack the ability to feel the same as you do.

[Lancelot only saw glory and pride even as a beast. He lived for the sake of only progressing to another battlefield to properly die on, unlike normal people.]

What do you mean by that?

[ So help her, she's about to flip a table. ]

You and I possess different mentalities. You and I, naturally, cannot see eye to eye, Alice.

[He envied Celegorm and his demise. Lancelot could never grieve over an honorable sacrifice that ended a giant battle and gained his family their prized jewel back. He was an inspiration to soldiers under those circumstances and yet, Lancelot was alive and ever reminded of his dishonor.]

I think everyone knows who participated in that battle feels the same in that he didn't deserve to die like that. But I am not about to talk about my feelings, I don't need the concern.

[He wasn't going to pry, really. Even if she said 'yes', Lancelot would suggest talking to somebody who actually had feelings--]

I would not presume to understand, honestly.

[ oh, damn it. Alice drops her head into her hands, heaving a shaky breath. She's too tired to argue over this and this is stupid. She hates it. It is a weird way to grieve and it is no weirder than refusing to speak for years. She's not about to cry, of course not. ]

It doesn't bring him back, so it doesn't matter!

[of_the_lake]

No, it doesn't. [As such, he was incapable of offering her comfort--even if she were to break stride and ever take it. Even Lancelot knew Alice would fight him to no end over that matter.]

I cannot grieve a man who thanked me and gave me a look of the utmost of pride when I complimented his strength and will to protect his beliefs.

I would insult his death if I were to grieve him after that.

[digophelia]

[ Not her, her compassion may run too deep. The despair in his brother's voice -- she knows that all too well. The grief is all too real that it feels too familiar. ]

So he was a stranger to you, there is no shame in the way you feel.

[ Alice says this tersely, crushing her hands into her face. Her hair. She's pulling her hair. ]

I'd much rather not talk about grief. I rather not lose my temper with you.

[He knew better, but he said it anyway.]

[He turned off his end of the feed--knowing just as much that it could get worse.]
