My lord. My true upbringing stems from the support of the fey. In this, I'm indebted to them to protect their lands and their well-being.

In this, I will be working to restore one of their Glens, so it may flourish in the wake of battles that had sundered it. Despite this, I will always be available for your sake. Please, do not hesitate to call upon my aid if necessary. My response will be ever swift.

Property? It was a dwelling place of fairies. No one person can own such a thing.

And who gave them ownership?

By right of existing there first, keeping the lands clean and free of war, they deserved such territories, though they wouldn't formally claim them by standards of mortal men.

Putting a 'name' to the land is a tradition held by men.

Hold - hold there. If they have kept the lands away from warmongering, what need is there for you?

They kept them peaceful by not looking to conquer territory and extend their reach. Among themselves, nymphs are not at all violent. It's when humans are involved that it becomes rather tricky.

They have no idea how to do battle--only how to cooperate with one another. In that, they need a being who understands the nature of bloodshed to protect them.

But, then, the lake belongs to you. You cannot claim something belongs to those who cannot do their duty by it - to those who cannot protect it.

Protection... I'll leave violence and cruelty to men, not to the fae.

Many can claim such a thing, but no one in the world is entitled to a thing. It's only up to the one with power to determine it for just a fleeting moment.
