Yeah, that's why I like you, Kaldur. You're a real stand-up guy! Not that there aren't plenty of stand-up people out there or anything, it's just great to see. [ If you ask him, anyway. Mako likes to teeter on the statistics. ]

Yes. In the yellow is Kid Flash, capable of achieving very fast speeds, and the other in the red shirt and cape is Robin, now Nightwing, a serious expert in martial arts, hacking, gymnastics and a variety of other incredible talents.

[ He can't exactly go through the entire Justice League that would take forever. ]

Also, they sound really cool and he wishes he could meet them. ]

Whoa. You really don't play around with your teams there, huh? Talk about packing a serious punch!

This is just the beginning. Artemis Crock, who you may have met at the field day, is also a member of my team, as is Cassie Sandsmark.

There are so many of us, now, each with our own unique talents. A force to be reckoned with, for sure.

[ Kaldur's voice is full of TEAM PRIDE, yeah. This is his team. His famiri. They kick ass like nobody's business. ]

Oh yeah, I do remember them! [ The girls' team was terrifying, but undoubtedly talented. ] And you know, as far as circumstances go, I think I can feel what you're saying. I mean, on the one hand, they're your team so they'd probably hop right into this if they heard you guys were here? I know I would've been here way sooner if I knew Mako and Korra were here. Buuuut I think I get it.

[ He may need to reevaluate his stance on the people from home issue after the hot mess that is the Silmaril battle, but. You know. ]

I would not willingly ask my friends to join me in war, for there is no good to come of it.

But yes, I believe many would seek to join us without hesitation if they knew of our plight here.

[ There's obviously some sort of set standard in their recruitment. ]

I dunno, I think you can get a little good out of anything. [ For realism with a touch of parade-raining, kindly follow the directory signs to the other element-bending orphan with killer eyebrows. For the optimism shark, just stand back and let him pinpoint exactly where in the water that stuff got dropped. ] Yeah, there's a pretty big chance it would be less good for us personally and more good for the Courts... and most people aren't really fans of the war thing. But it's still pretty good to know that you know your friends would be good enough to follow you in. I mean, that's security, right there.

[ Its the awesomeness-meter. If you break the awesomeness meter you qualify for further consideration. ]

There is a truth to that. Only be sure that your friends who stand by you do so for the right reasons. From experience, I would tell you that such things matter. Often more than one think they might.

Yeahhh, you've got a point there. I'm not much of a people-reader- you know, that's more of a Mako thing, since he's a detective and everything now. But I bet it would've come in handy a few times.

[ I was going to go through a list of times Bolin trusted the word of the wrong people or made a questionable life choice in relation to his lack of people-reading skills, but we'd be here all night. ]

[ Yeah you are going to be on Kaldur's "needs supervision" list. For, like, ever. Eventually you will learn people judgement.

Recognize your weaknesses and work on them, or find ways to work around them, if possible. I have faith that you will do well.

[ Definitely hopefully. Also wow. Usually when he mentions this kind of thing, people sort of brush right by it, or it turns out he has really seriously bad timing when it comes to the mentioning and then they all move on to the next big thing in the conversation. ~~and then he possibly ends up engaged to a terrifying girl by the end of the day.~~

And like, Varrick was great at saying confident, flattering stuff about him, but then he also sort of told an audience Bolin was dumb and betrayed the entire Team Avatar by trying to kidnap the President... which was, you know, less okay. And Korra kind of had this "landed in hostile Unseelie territory and told Mako but not him, for some reason he's too afraid to ask about yet" situation going on last month, which stung a little bit. And Mako usually just kind of says "never mind, I'll take care of it" at a default and handles stuff by himself because he's better at not getting kidnapped or screwing stuff up? And he guesses it's not like he's really done anything to discourage the kid-gloves approach, even if he hasn't so much meant to encourage it, either, but.

Man. A straight-up "work on your problems" and "I have faith that you will do well." Give him a second to sort of reel in that one.

[ Newbies are new. It's a fact of life. And everyone makes mistakes. The important part is to make sure that they are not grave, and they are learned from. ]

That is all one can ask for. If you need help, do not be afraid or ashamed to seek it. Some skills come only with time and practice.
