open to both courts - slightly forward-dated to July 19

[The light of day is no kinder than the dusk of yesterday, but at least Aubri has been given enough time to make himself a little more presentable. His feathers are still in disarray and he's careful to keep the left side of his face away from the locket but there's less obvious blood matted through feathers and fur. His every intention is to keep this short -- he's found it within himself to actually travel today and he feels as if he needs to travel faster than the army that left yesterday.]

Some of you know that an army marches toward Caer Glaem. [He had considered warning only those who were aligned with Seelie. However, he has friends among Unseelie and isn't dumb enough to assume he's the only one. And if any Unseelie have objections to Celegorm's march, just maybe he can spur them toward taking some action, as well. In his mind, this is not Seelie vs Unseelie. Not yet.] Do not take this lightly; it is an army of considerable strength and number. I urge you to make preparations.

[A pause. Celegorm charged him to deliver a very specific message but Aubri will not be cowed. But something needs said.] I do not believe that reason will halt their march.

[[threadjacks welcome, if you've a desire for conversations between characters in this post. go to town.]]

[The first words out of Waver's mouth, before he realizes he's actually hit the audio reply button is:] Idiots.

[Immediately, he resumes his usual crisp, professional voice.]

Thank you for sharing the information, it's good to know that the area needs to be avoided.

Permalocked on Waver's end

Any idea of numbers, or does that get to be labeled as something you can't hare?

[Well, that other part wasn't supposed to go out. But the question's fair.]

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say everyone involved.
gordianknots: In a room of strangers I guess I'm glad I don't belong (We are genii)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2014-07-19 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
That's understandable. "Not small" is a good number.

[Waver sighs, not bother to try to muffle the noise.]

Glad to know I'm in good company then.

Objecting to war doesn't mean ignoring it and refusing to share information about the movements of armies for the safety and sake of others. Something like this is a more positive thing than negative, even if playing messenger is disagreeable.

True enough and then some, but I might have hoped for more of a time delay.

In your estimation, is there any chance that intervention is even worth it? Or will it just encourage both parties?
gordianknots: But my inner Cinderella calls (Your hypothesis have been confirmed)

[There's a lack of specificity involved that makes Waver pause. He's been trying to follow everything on the watches, and the number of individuals that --

--Oh hell it'd be Celegorm, wouldn't it?]

I don't have the physical strength or the ability to manage a fight. And from the sounds of what you've said, the opportunity for the matter is long gone.

Waver. [ Ariadne honestly sounds a bit like she's been crying, emotionally exhausted. ]

I'm going to the Station.

Permalocked

[personal profile] gordianknots 2014-07-19 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
--Okay. [Waver's concerned, but trying to balance it with respect for the fact she may really not want to talk right now.]

Let me know that you've gotten there safe.
boutant: ([upset] oh come on)

[personal profile] boutant 2014-07-19 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
I will.

[ She sighs, continues speaking because someone else has to know, even if she sounds like she's mourning as she says the words. ]

Celegorm tortured him.
gordianknots: I've got dirty laundry on them all (Soft consonants and rounded vowels)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2014-07-19 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
[There's the distinct sound of Waver sighing, disappointed and irritated. He wishes he was surprised, he really was.]

That's a count of two then. Fantastic.
boutant: ([upset] worry)

[personal profile] boutant 2014-07-19 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
[ She'd been surprised. Surprised and horribly, horribly sad. ]

I don't know what to do.

[ And she hates admitting it, but this- this isn't even war. This is worse. ]
gordianknots: But you take the grand prize in ego-tist-icat-acrobatic master of conceit (But I will never go home again)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2014-07-19 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Right now, not seeking him out or saying anything is a start.

[He breathes out, trying to get the right words in the right order.]

But no, I'm as lost as you are as for everything else.
boutant: ([awkward] no I wasn't touching it)

[personal profile] boutant 2014-07-19 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Um.

It may be a little late for the first part.

[personal profile] boutant 2014-07-22 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
That he'll do anything to recover it. That the Oath he swore about them will... corrupt him, basically, that I won't be able to recognize him.

[ She sighs. ]

I told him that I was already having a problem recognizing him. He hung up.
gordianknots: I will not sing along - How did you get it so wrong (& we will build Jerusalem)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2014-07-22 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
[For a beat, Waver's quiet. He has thoughts on how to perhaps address this with Celegorm, but respecting Ariadne's reaction is infinitely more important.]

I'm sorry it's come to that.
boutant: ([architect] model)

[personal profile] boutant 2014-07-22 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
It- he looked like I'd slapped him, so maybe some of it got through.

[ She sighs. ]

I don't know.
gordianknots: Too much for me! (& I will build Jerusalem)

[personal profile] gordianknots 2014-07-22 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
We might hope. [Waver breathes out, trying to think of what else to do.]

I don't actually have useful advice here for once either. Just agreement in the key of fuck
