korra would've totally won within minutes if she'd been able to use her best friend for help, but pride wouldn't let her.

but now here she is, about three days later, visibly frustrated but letting it only last for a few seconds, perking up when she finally gets the locket to work. ]

Hey, who wants to help me play a game! [ despite her broad grin, this game is super not physically demanding. really!! ] See, I lost someone, and for the past three days I've been trying to find him, but, heh, I guess he's a better hider than I thought.

[ behind her, the giant polar beardog lets out a sigh, her tail thumping lazily on the floor. ]

What? [ korra turns to face the massive animal, who picks her head up, letting out a half-bark. ] Naga, you know the rules. I can't ask you for help, but Bilbo didn't say I couldn't ask everyone else...

[ naga just fixes korra with a look that says "you're doing it again" before placing her chin on her paws. ]

... Yeah, well, no one asked you. [ and so korra turns back to the locket, still pushing a grin. ] If you wanna help me find him, he's about—um... [ she lifts a hand to her stomach... lower... hip... ah... fuck it!! ] He's really short and he's got this curly hair and really hairy feet. He kinda... looks? like a kid? But don't call him that because he's really a grumpy old man and he's kinda sensitive about that.

[ and with that, korra nods once and ends the feed!! she and naga are going to be around everywhere in the castle looking for bilbo, so if you'd like to action in this post, go right ahead!! ]

[ naga paws her way over to korra, resting her giant head on her friend's shoulder, looking at dany over the locket. korra's an extremely efficient hunter on her own, but she also spent 90% of her time cooped up in a compound learning to be the Avatar, so her skills are just a little rusty.

besides, hunting arctic foxwolves in frozen tundra is so much easier than trying to find a hobbit in a huge castle like this. ]

there's a few seconds of frustrated huffing, hemming and hawing on korra's end before she turns back to dany, now more determined than ever to find bilbo and win this stupid game. ]

Yeah, and I've been using her to get around the castle, but... Two heads are better than one, right? How about three?

[ no titles. today she would like to be a girl, not a queen. she strolls up to korra and naga without hesitation, a self-assured smile on her face. ]

Your Naga is truly impressive, Korra.

[ ... instantly korra recognizes the name, and she feels a tensing in her chest that's followed by a jealous lurch of her stomach. for a split second, korra's features harden and she gives dany a once-over now that they're standing face to face. this is the girl that mako mentioned before and though korra knows ( she knows ) that she and mako are no longer together it still hurts to think that he's free to be with whomever he wants to be.

but this is her jumping to conclusions, as korra doesn't even know the extent of mako's friendship with dany, and as such shouldn't assume the worst scenario right off. the tenzin at the back of her head tells her to breathe through this. it's not becoming of the avatar to get so wound up in personal feelings.

so seconds after dany's introduction, korra's blinking and clearing her throat awkwardly, one hand rubbing over naga's shoulder before she finds her voice. ]

—Yeah, uh, thanks! [ hahahHAHAhahaha aha... haha... awkward, huge grin ] So um, I think Naga won't have any trouble carrying us both, and it'll be quicker looking for Bilbo that way.

[ yeah. yeeeeah. ]

[ the shift doesn't go unnoticed. does korra recognize as alayne does, as someone dangerous? she hopes not. ]

Of course.

[ and she will nonchalantly board the polar-bear dog. ]
