[Tauriel had spent the better part of a day learning the functions of the locket by watching how others used the device and asking a few questions. So it was with some confidence that she appeared using the video function of it. She is still a little uncertain as to how to address people properly on this... whatever it is.]

I am Tauriel and it has come to my attention through the Lady Galadriel that both my liege and his heir are here as well.

[there is a momentary pause, as she debates if she should inquire for anyone else being here, then decides against it. For now her main concern is for them.]

Therefore, I am looking to speak with either of them. They are King Thranduil and Prince Legolas of the Woodland Realm.

[In the end, and almost impulsively, she adds afterwards:]

If there are others who know of me, I would be glad to speak with you as well.

[She pauses at the name as well. She had only ever heard it (shouted) at a distance and so could not be certain... but...] Kíli... he was the dwarf who was injured?

That's the one. [Despite the memory, a faint smile appears on his lips.] He didn't give you his name?

[And then he has something else that needs to be said.]

... We're grateful for what you did.

Though we talked, it was not something brought up. [There is a slight quirk to her lips then.] You escaped before such formalities could be exchanged.

[And then her concern for Kíli was back.] How is his leg?

[Straight onto pick-up lines and delirious poetry, good job, Kíli.] You'll have to excuse him, then.

[The humour leaves Fíli's face as he thinks back to Kíli's leg troubling him again, but that isn't her fault. She doesn't need to know -- and what matters now is that Kíli is all right.]

It's healing well. Even that wound won't keep him down.

[She smiles a little thinking of the dwarf, but quickly grows pensive when she studies Fíli. She can tell there was something being left unsaid, though she did not know enough to press the issue.]

I am glad to hear that it is doing well and I am not at all surprised that he is up and about. Dwarves appear to be quite hardy.

[He chuckles at her observation, a quiet sound.]

We are -- and my brother loathes being cooped up in bed. [A slight shake of his head. His next words are more difficult to get out.] ... If not for your aid, he would have died. We may be hardy, and Kíli is one of the most stubborn dwarves I know, but we are not truly made of stone.

[There is silence on her end for a moment and then she glances away, blushing just a little.]

I could not let him die. Not when it was at the hands of Orcs who dared cross our borders. You were our prisoners after all. Our responsibility.

[That wasn't the only reason. And she knew it. She wondered then if he did as well.]
