He still uses video instead of just audio to avoid any nasally voice confusion again - if this really bites him in the ass later, better leave it clear it's all on him. He's in his room at the castle, not a commoner's for anyone who doesn't know about his magic yet, and he's surrounded by books he borrowed from the library, which shouldn't be surprising. At all.]

Many of you have been here for a long while, right? Like... a "whole year" while, give it or take. [Sighing, he runs his fingers through his hair. It's so frustrating for this nerd not to be able to find what he wants by researching.]

They connect her to something called "sigils" too but that's all I got. And there isn't much more I can do with the state of the castle's library... [Plus the fact it isn't objective doesn't help, but he isn't going to say that.] So maybe anyone can tell me where to find--

[He interrupts himself when what it looks like a wooden bird lands on his head, using his hair as a nest. Two more fly by a second later, the wind made by their flight turning the pages of his books and shuffling his notes. Dave facepalms and closes his locket - it seems his spell still needs a few adjustments.]

No, there's nothing here, that's why I was asking. Can you tell me about 'the Mother' from your world?

[raavashing]

She's the spirit that gives every creature in the world their face. She crafts each one of them with great care so that when we're born, we all have a face that belongs to us.

[Identical twins were an oddity in this, though.]

I met her once. I don't know much more about her save what she looks like and what she does.

[dragonring]

[Sorry, but that's exactly where Dave's mind is going.]

That's a new one. So there aren't any twins in your world? She sounds friendly if you got to talk to her.

[raavashing]

[Great. Make him explain how more than one soul gets stuck with one face. He doesn't know!]

Actually, she's not that friendly. She finds humanity pretty annoying. She tolerated my presence out of respect for my duty and we parted ways peacefully, but she wasn't that happy to see me. And as for twins, uh... wait, don't right that! And not that either! Ugh! Stop it!

[There's a moment of 'silence' on the writing where it was obvious he was doing something to keep himself from making enough noise for the locket to transcribe.]

She didn't explain how twins happen. I didn't think to ask. If I have to guess, it probably has something to do with her ability to see the souls of those before they're born and multiple souls sometimes making it difficult to tell how many there are. She does make the faces of every creature, human or animal.

I guess finally finding an entity that sticks around and offers explanations is too much to ask for, but the theory makes sense. Are you ok in there?

[raavashing]

I'm fine. I'm just not used to it writing everything I say. :laugh:

[He changes to audio and Dave's super nasally voice can be heard now.]

I know. But I like watching it write out what I'm saying. It's still the same thing being said either way.

[He doesn't change it over, but is glad for the fact that he's not using the one that showed him moving around because that voice made him cringe just a little.]

It is pretty sweet, but I don't know... it gets a little too exact in its transcription. Like it just happened to you.

[The point of texting is being able to think before you write, Dave thinks. And keep things to yourself.]

[raavashing]

I'll get used it.

[He really did like watching the thing write what he was saying. It was a little mesmerizing.]

My name is Wan. If you find out anything more about 'the Mother', will you please tell me? I'd like to learn about her if I can.

Oh, hey Wan. I'm David Stutler. I'll see what I can do, so far everything has been really vague. It's, ah, really frustrating. [He sighs. Waver seems to have info but he feels he won't be allowed to talk about that.]

[raavashing]

David Stutler.

[Fortunately for David, the locket didn't convey his slight issue trying to pronounce his name.]

I understand. Thank you all the same. I'll be heading to the town of Azure, protected by Zuko, in about a week. I don't know how long I'll stay, but if you send word there, it should get to me eventually.

[Because as convenient as the locket is, he's still more used to regular mail and couriers/messangers.]

[That's fine, many people have butchered his name, he's used to it by now.]

Azure, got it. I haven't been there but if I'm, ah- done by then, I'll make my birds keep an eye on that area.

I'd love to meet them. I hope I get to.
