There's no telling how long it'll be on her side. It could be a day, it could be twenty years, I don't know. So just ... make sure to give her some support when she wakes up, okay? Trust me. She's gonna need it.

[Not Merida. He feels easily the same way, because he's been there. He knows the panic that comes with being taken away and coming back when you least expected, how much of a toll that can have on the emotional state. She didn't deserve that. Not Merida.]

She'll insist she doesn't mind (just like Astrid would), that war is war, but Hiccup is savvier than to simply believe that; Merida is mature, sure, but she turned the colour of a tomato when she talked about him, just like any other sixteen-year-old would.

At the very least, her adopted brothers will be there. ]

I have no idea. I sent him the same message though, just so he knows. I met him before though. Seems like a decent guy. [After the very subtle playful teasing ~~flirting~~ that occurred before his identity was discovered, anyway.] Isn't he one of those fighter types though? With everything that's going on now, who knows where he is.

The important thing is she's safe right now. Which is good considering she'd probably throw a fit if she knew all the things we were getting into.

If he gets himself killed like an idiot, she'll be really upset.

I'd rather have her throwing a fit than laid out unconscious. Who's keeping an eye on her right now?

She has a habit of drawing in the stubborn crowd, so I doubt he'll get killed so easily.

[Maybe. But if her closeness to the Viking and the Winter Spirit was anything to go by, there'd be a harder time for him to get knocked down too.]
