Ah, about the machines in the Station: they have instructions in Drabbish now. Printed paper sheets that I stuck next to each device, you can't miss it. So it would be really, really great if breaking could be avoided from now on. Just saying.

Hmm? [She sits up a bit, as if it will improve her view at all of what Dave is about to show her.

When the locket view fills with various machines and lights, her eyes widen and her beak falls open. Do you know what she does next, Dave? She coos in delight, her pupils practically taking up the entirety of her golden eyes as she stares at it all.]

Amazing!! How.. How do you capture the lights? [She doesn't care if it sounds ignorant because they're beautiful and she's only ever seen torches and fairy lights.

She tilts her head, studying them as best she can through the locket as she crowds in close to her own.

Her ears flick back and forward, a low rumble of delight in her chest.]

Where does the music come from?

[Oh, but she wants to see it all closer!]

[Dave's voice comes from behind the locket, he keeps showing Zhaneel around as he explains.]

That's what we call electricity. Like the stuff lightning is made of? We've learned to produce it and transmit in different ways.

[When she asks about the music, Dave puts the locket on one of the computer desks. Now his hands are the ones on sight, bringing his cellphone closer so Zhaneel can listen to the song better.]

[Zhaneel looks positively taken by all of this, her golden eyes flitting from one device to the next and then to the lights. It's almost overwhelming, but she doesn't look away from any of it for fear of missing something that might be even more extraordinary.]

I have seen Mages of my own world harness the powers of lightning with their hands, but never have I seen it tamed as this. Extraordinary.

[Then her gaze follows the movement to the phone, her ears perked and alert.]

The machine harnesses the tones in the same manner it harnesses the lightni- electricity? [She automatically corrects herself, wanting to sound proper as she learns.] It's such a small thing in comparison...

[The phone starts to slip from Dave's hands and he catches it just in time before it hits the table. Mages holding lightning in their hands? Ahaha... yep, life hates him. He clears his voice before speaking again.]

Ah, yeah, things getting smaller is kinda recent. You should've seen the progress, before you needed a big box to be able to play music, now you can do everything with your phone.

[Touching the screen, he stops the music but only to play a video of a dog running around a small bedroom and chasing some kind of remote controlled furry toy.]

Music, pictures and videos aren't exactly the same as electricity though. Those things are information held in the memory of the phone. Electricity is the energy that keeps it working.
