The language on the machines is English, and that was brought to America by British people. All the countries in those islands speak English.

I don't speak English, I speak Gaelic. I can read most of th' Drabbish around here but some words still escape me.

The language on the microwaves is English, but you're speaking Drabbish right now, we all are. The trouble was, all the English-speakers could read the instructions just fine and it's hard to tell what Drabbish looks like when you're staring at your written mother-tongue here.
