Good day.

I'm afraid a mistake has been made. As I understand it, it's the Seelie court which should seek my loyalty, and yet I have found myself among the Unseelie. I intend no offence to members of either court, nor disloyalty to the court I have been placed with, yet it is a perplexity. Simply put, I am left to wonder if this was indeed the intent and there has been no confusion, or if my own confusion is sound. It's...troubling, for reasons I apologise for not detailing.

Similarly, I'm looking for a friend, most likely among the Seelie, if present. He's about seventeen, Japanese, and you'll know him for a foolish innocence and investment in justice. Better still, being terribly easily flustered.

[Giving a name would be better, and it does make it apparent this friend is his Master, to anyone in the know, but it is still even just a little bit safer to keep Tatsumi's name secret. He can't jeopardise the boy's safety.]

Ah, one more thing. I'm a doctor, therefore if anyone is ever in need of medical attention, I am always available, particularly for those outside the courts who may not have access to their infirmaries. I should note, however, my practice may not be up-to-date for some. Although I do promise I don't suck. [He laughs lightly.] -That's right, a name would be helpful, wouldn't it? I suppose it's best to continue with Berserker for now, although I am aware there is another by the name. If that name holds meaning to you, I believe it's important we speak. Perhaps more privately.

I had no intention of administering the serum to unwitting people. There is a reason I used myself for the experiment, after all. Had it worked, I would have my proof and present it to my fellows of The Royal Society. Explain its workings, from there we would determine what should be done. You must understand, our society was entirely built upon seeking goodness, and presenting oneself as entirely moral, no matter secret transgressions. I'm certain, had it worked properly, it would therefore be well received. In theory it would be something like a vaccine for influenza, a simple task. I had not thought terribly far ahead, simply hoping to see if it could be done, first.

Hm. Knowing humans, I doubt it would have ended simply, all the same. Many people wouldn't have wanted that. But other people would have wanted it. They would have come into conflict, wouldn't they?

Were you afraid of the parts of you that you tried to get rid of?

[One he hasn't really thought of. Not that it matters now, of course, but still... Berserker pauses, considering the question. Truly his own parts had been the main intent anyway. He wanted badly to help others, but even if it was turned down, he could at least have used it himself.]

No, I wasn't afraid of my darker side, only ashamed. It was never anything of much importance. In fact, most would hardly have bothered to hide the things I did, or thought. I only found it difficult to reconcile with the ideal I set out for myself.

At least you avoided having to see how that would turn out.

Hm. Being ashamed of things you did...I can't understand that at all, sorry. That's a human emotion. You have very strong beliefs, don't you? Even ending your own life. Though I'm not clear on that part.

I take it you're not nearly so human as you seem, then. I suppose it's rare immortals would be. But then, I'm not human myself, anymore, yet still feel the same way. Did he tell you of that, my death? I simply chose suicide over the possibility of becoming him permanently, which was becoming startlingly real.

I am not. I never have been. And he mentioned that he killed you both, although I do not see how it is you are alive in that case. I'd wondered if you were immortal, somehow.

No, not immortal, exactly. Resurrected through magic - summoned, rather, as the Berserker class of what is called a Servant, a sort of familiar. Truly I am only a soul, this body is less than half the age I was, and can be made to disappear. I have a duty to protect my summoner, and so if only for that reason alone, I have no such ideas.

Ah. So Berserker is not your name, but your designation.

Technically, yes. Unfortunately, I am forced to rely on him in many ways. However, he holds a strong dislike for my Master. My fear is Hyde would kill him, in some way or other.

I will keep calling you Berserker if you prefer, yes. Or whatever else. I did say I would keep quiet about your situation. Well, I suppose I did not say it to you specifically.

[ She stands to gain exactly nothing from running her mouth about him, and doesn't care to do so anyway, so. ]

I have no preference. Berserker is fine, Jekyll or Henry are equally acceptable. Those from my own time know me by my true name.

You must forgive me, as I have little recollection of Hyde's goings on these days. Some, but not so very much.

[In fact he still doesn't remember her name but he feels too guilty to ask. Of course, he needs to find out somehow, as not knowing would be even worse...]

That's fine. He mentioned something like that. What do you remember about our conversation?

Hm... That you would exchange information, and a sense of amusement, mostly. He was painfully annoyed in the first few moments, though. Something of immortality as well, though little information came of it.

How remarkable! Especially as a cat, when humans so rarely attribute such intelligence to animals, incredibly fascinating! -In contrast, under the influence of a sort of magic, I take a more beast-like form. Yours, however, sounds far more interesting and useful.

That could be taken as an insult, you know. Humans just don't listen. [ But it's true that before she got her human heart, she didn't think as she does now. ] What sort of magic are you speaking of? And what form?

If it is to be taken as an insult to any, then I would mean for it to insult humans. For in truth, we do make such assumptions, and view ourselves so highly.

It's related to my title, a skill granted to me as a summoned spirit, based upon common interpretation of my story. I couldn't say exactly what the form is, I only know it to be animalistic based upon the reactions of others and my own actions.
